Why We Created the Wings to Wander Program

There are moments that stay with you.

Conversations you don’t forget.

Requests that feel simple—but carry so much weight.

Through my work in the disability community, I’ve received countless calls from individuals and families looking for help accessing equipment that would change their day-to-day lives.

Not luxuries.
Not extras.

But things that would allow them to experience more of the world—more freedom, more connection, more life.

The Reality

What many people don’t see is that insurance doesn’t cover everything.

In fact, some of the most impactful devices—like track chairs for the beach, adaptive equipment for travel, or specialized medical beds—are often left out entirely.

And for many families, the cost puts them completely out of reach.

Where the Idea Began

Over time, those conversations started to build.

It became impossible to ignore the gap between what people need and what they can actually access.

And I kept coming back to the same thought:

What if there was a way to help—consistently, intentionally, and in a way that felt accessible to more people?

Introducing: Wings to Wander

The Wings to Wander Program was created to help bridge that gap.

Through this initiative, a portion of every Winged Meadow Co. purchase goes toward funding adaptive equipment for individuals in the disability community.

The goal is simple:

To help more people experience the moments that matter—whether that’s a family vacation, time outdoors, or greater independence in everyday life.

Why It Matters

Because access changes everything.

It changes what’s possible.
It changes how people connect.
It changes how life is experienced.

And sometimes, all it takes is one piece of equipment to open that door.

Looking Ahead

This is just the beginning.

As the brand grows, so will the impact—and with it, the number of individuals we’re able to support.

Every purchase tells a story.

Not just of style—but of something bigger.

And we’re so grateful to build something that allows beauty and impact to exist side by side.
